act-Mesh (Wireless mesh network node implementation)
In this research we develop a node for wireless mesh network. The node act as a wireless router as well as traffic source. Nodes in a wireless mesh network cooperate to bring packets to destinations. They can find the best route based on a routing protocol. If route was fail, they can find another route so packets will still can be delivered to destinations. act-Mesh use OLSR routing procotol and the hardware is based on Soekris net-4801 motherboard. act-MAES (Mobile Asynchronous E-mail Server)
In this research we develop a mobile e-mail server which can be used to collect e-mails from servers reside in Interneless areas. act-MAES (Mobile Asynchronous E-mail Server) can be placed in any kind of transportation, such as train, motor cycle, bicycle etc. Along its journey, passing by Internetless area, it download/upload e-mails from/to servers in Internetless area. E-mails will be forwarded to the next servers or to the Internet when act-MAES arrive at Internet-connected area. You can read more about act-MAES here or you can click on act-MAES menu on the left.
act-WeLifes (Wireless Location Aware Information Feeding System)
act-WeLifes is a location aware application where users, with bluetooth-enabled mobile devices, will be fed with audio streaming as well as description text. The streamed audio and displayed text are depend upon where the user location is. So everytime users move to another location (outside the first location coverage), they receive different audio and text. act-MeshNMS
act-MeshNMS is a network management system for OLSR-based wireless mesh network. It is based upon OpenNMS, an open source NMS. Our contribution makes OpenNMS has the capability to manage OLSR-based wireless mesh network. In addition, act-MeshNMS can make OpenNMS show wireless mesh network map along with nodes and links condition. act-Metal (Mobile Portal)
act-Metal stands for Mobile Portal. act-Metal provide information as well as infotainment for transportation passengers. So you won't be boring anymore if you have to ride on bus or train for several hours because you can use your mobile devices (equipped with WiFi card) to access the information, chat with other passengers or submit your food request. Currently we are developing act-Metal to be implemented in a train so we call it act-MetalTrain. act-MetalTrainIt was implemented on VIA EPIA MiniITX and still need further improvement.
